Day 3 | Boat Excursion: Amalfi Coast or Capri

On this day, following breakfast, you have two alternative options:

- Amalfi Coast boat tour and snorkelling.
This excursion starts in Amalfi. Meet your English-speaking local captain. Once everybody has jumped on board and had a little briefing about how you’re going to spend the day, you will be ready to set off west towards Positano.
The route will take you along the Amalfi Coast’s finest beaches, passing by natural rock arches and into sea caves, giving you the opportunity to admire the old watch towers that dot the entire length of this coast.
Pause at beaches reachable only by sea and enjoy snorkelling or swimming in crystal-clear waters and discovering hidden grottoes.
Drinks (beer, soft drinks and water), snorkelling equipment (mask and snorkel), dry bags, life jackets (on request), wind jackets, hats, floating devices (pool noodles) will all be provided.

- Capri Boat Excursion
.
This boat tour, starting from Amalfi, will give you the opportunity to enjoy a complete view of the island with all its enchanting small coves and grottos. En route to Capri, admire the breathtaking coastline of Praiano, Positano, the natural reserve of Punta Campanella and the islands of Li Galli. Soft drinks will be served on board.
Right after reaching the Faraglioni rocks, probably the most scenic spot in Capri, stop for a relaxing swim in the crystal-clear waters of the Green Cave and White Cave. The tour of the island helps you to discover and fully appreciate the coast of Capri, the unique landscapes and breathtaking views; the Natural Arch, Villa Malaparte and Marina Piccola.
Then stop for a visit at the famous Blue Grotto. This cave, whose waters are characterised by a unique deep blue color, was used as a private swimming pool by the Roman emperors who had their summer residences on the island. (N.B. The entrance ticket to the Blue grotto is not included and is payable directly on site. The visit to the Blue grotto is not always possible due to weather and sea conditions, also in high season lines are often too long).
Arrival and disembarkation at the port of Capri.

Once on the island, you can choose to take the funicular up to the famous Piazzetta with its characteristic alleys with designer shops and luxury boutiques.
Alternatively, you might decide to visit the old village of Anacapri, the highest site on the island, Amble through alleyways, ancient churches and small shops. Near the center of the village you can take the chair lift up to Monte Solaro and enjoy the most breathtaking view of the island.
This is a full-day excursion departing and returning to Amalfi. Please be on time for your departure.

Evening at leisure and dinner on your own.

Day 4 | Ravello and Valley of the Ferriere

Breakfast.
Meet your English-speaking local guide to discover Ravello, the elegant international City of Music which sits on a promontory at 350 metres above the Mediterranean Sea with spectacular views over the other towns of the Amalfi Coast. Historically, Ravello has been the inspiring escape for artists, writers, intellectuals, musicians and composers such as Wagner, Toscanini, Escher, Mirò, Lawrence.
Walk through the historical centre and reach Villa Cimbrone whose origins date back to the 11th century: the Villa and its wide elegant gardens are located in a strategic position, standing at the edge of the cliffs and offering dramatic views over Amalfi’s coastline. Pause for a moment at the Terrazzo dell’Infinito (Terrace of Infinity), a natural balcony embellished with impressive marble busts, with an almost 360 degree view of the coastline and the distinctive, colourful Mediterranean Amalfi coast landscape with its terraced lemon groves.
Wander along the ancient alleyways, churches and nobleman’s residences while your guide will unveil the most interesting stories of this long history’s town.

Hike with your guide to the Valley of the Ferriere and descend to Amalfi.
Immerse yourself in the history and culture of the ancient village of Amalfi, Enjoy this unique walk through country footpaths exploring the natural reserve of the Ferriere which is one of the forty-one Italian biogenetic reserves. Explore its waterfalls and then continue to the Valle dei Mulini.
In the heart of the protected area of the valley is the majestic wall of fossilized moss that flows continuously along its entire surface. Explore the lush vegetation with your guide who will explain the history of the old paper mills where the famous “Carta d’Amalfi” was produced using a medieval system.
Among the rare plants we will see is the Woodwardia, a millenary fern discovered in 1710 by the botanist Micheli and which is said to grow only here.
Before descending to the centre of Amalfi, take a break at a recently refurbished farmhouse where you’ll enjoy traditional dishes prepared with local ingredients gathered mainly from the farmhouse garden.
